Whew!

Been really busy lately....I've got lots of OKC trip pix to burrow through. Seth took a few "Rainman" types that I'll have to post just for the heck of it.

It's been really crazy lately. In a matter of a few weeks, our back door leaked (badly) and our A/C went out. So there's more $$$ on the ol' Visa. We may be washing dishes at our nursing home in about 50 years to finally pay that sucker off. Sheesh. I just painted the door frame and all we need is the outside frame painted. I'm SO sick of home repairs and STUFF BREAKING!!!

I'm beginning to hate those home makeover shows now. They make it look so easy, and then you look at your own house and see all the cracks and peeling paint and think "Wow, I wish *I* could have *that* makeover done to *this* house!"

But, hey, that takes money. Lots of money. Money - there's something I'm beginning to hate, too! I'm tired of worrying about everything....what does this cost, can we do this, can we do that, etc. etc. I don't like that I'm beginning to resent people that I see that have so much (as in, excessively, like celebrities, etc.)...and then just blow it on stupid stuff. Face creams for $200 a jar?! Purses for $5,000?! Are you kidding me?? Even if I HAD that kind of money, I honestly don't think I could spend so frivolously. All I can think of is....wow, our church could finish the second floor/brick the outside/build the sanctuary, etc. If I ever won the lottery (which is hard if you don't play it, LOL) I'd love to give a huge chunk to my church and the Methodist missions worldwide. Our former associate pastor is from Liberia...he said that $20,000 would build an entire clinic back in his country. Four purses. That blows my mind.

Well, God has a plan for me, and it's not to buy expensive purses! I need to not worry about that and focus on what *I* need to be doing. Ken and Seth are my priorities....Ken's so incredibly busy at work and school (both full-time) and Seth's learning so much every day. He loves the two VBSs he's going to! I would have gladly let him not go to one if he wanted, but he wanted to go to both (one in the morning, one at another church in the evening). When he was baptised, the preacher said something like "may Seth grow up to be a praying man of God"...I think that was prophetic...he's SO emphathetic and so "in tune" spiritually. He hates when a child is crying or an ambulance goes by. We literally pray for whoever it is....of course if I'm driving I don't close my eyes (I promise!) but Seth feels better after we've prayed for that ambulance that's gone by or whatever. He drives me nuts sometimes but I'm SO proud of him. That's my job satisfaction right there! (The pay isn't that great, but oh well.)

So there's my ponderings for a while. In short, we've been through a bit of a rough patch lately, but we're going to be fine! With God's help of course. Always. (I need to remember that myself!)
