Good Lent Season Picture

This is titled "Gethsemene". I don't know why, but I always related to this part of Jesus' story.

Duuude!

"Hey man, I got some organic catnip. It's RIGHTEOUS man. Good stuff. Yeahhhhh."

SAHM

In case you don't know what that means, it stands for "stay-at-home mom". Looks like that's what I'm going to stay for now! No (paid) job for me...but you know, to be honest, I was relieved when I got the news. It would have been nice, not to mention the money would have been a big help, but it's all good.

More time for my NUMEROUS projects! I'm a year behind on my photo album, I want to do that Cub Scout scrapbook for Seth, putting all my old pictures in a new album, putting wedding video on DVD, putting all our movies onto DVDs....let's see, that's just for a start. Actually, that doesn't include painting the interior, fixing the outside pool area, getting the kitchen updated somehow, etc.

So, I think I'll just move along and get busy. :)

Guess I still can't order the "buuuusiness woman's special". LOL

Cake Competition

This is the cake Seth and I made for the Cub Scout Blue and Gold Banquet. We may not have won an award, but it SURE was fun! Seth did almost ALL the decorating...I helped with the pumpkins and a couple of other things, but he did all the rest. It was called "Four Seasons Outdoors". We LOVE sprinkles around here. Good thing I had a bunch in the cabinet!

Crazy Cat

For some reason, he LOVED the roses. I think they smelled of exotic places or something.

Slow down, world!

Good grief it's been nuts around here. WHEN will it slow DOWN?!

Annual Valentine's Dance

Had fun at the dance Saturday night. They had a chocolate fountain (OH that was fun...I must do that again sometime) and lots of good food. Nice to let loose, even if it's once a year! Seems like yesterday we were there. Missed our friend Lincoln, though, who passed away last year. He and his wife were always such a fun couple to watch dance. Couldn't help think of them this year. I still can't believe he's gone.

I'm still trying to get over an-almost-sinus-infection. Nothing helps except hot and sour soup, so I may be going to the ol' Buffet City tomorrow for some soup and sushi. Oooh, and maybe some hot tea. Might have to make some now!

Working Girl?

My brain is really fried right now. A position in church has come up, one that I thought of applying for before. Now that it's available again, I'm freaking out wondering whether to jump into the working world again or not. I know it sounds so easy to people that are "out there" in the working world already...but to someone like me, who's been out of the loop for a long time, it's a big step.

Part of me wants to stay being a stay-at-home mom, Cub Scout Leader, Choir Director, etc., which I'm really good at by the way. :) That's my identity now. Part of me wants to step out and try this. The truth? I'm a little afraid. Actually...I'm a LOT afraid! I have a huge fear of failure when it comes to "career" stuff. I guess it's because I worked my whole young life in school, then when The Big Job came after college, it was awesome...but the organization was corrupt and I ended up quitting, and I guess that just soured me on the whole idea of "work hard = be happy" thing.

And, of course, I was JUST getting over all that....I'm so happy with my life....everything's going great....busy with Scouts, church, directing choir, then BOOM! This opportunity comes up! *sigh* Of course, the money would REALLY be great....and it's only part-time....and it's flexible....and the former worker is a friend and will be there if I have questions....and I can bring Seth to work if I have to....there's really no reason NOT to except for my own fears.

So with all that...I think I'll turn in my resume, and just leave it up to God! Yikes!

Early Birthday Present

Guitar Hero for his Playstation. I think we created a monster! haha

Pinewood Derby Champ, Twice!

Seth was great! He was such a good sport to all the kids...he cheered them on even when he didn't win a race. His car this year (on the left) was all his idea...he had stickers of all the flags of the world, so he put them all on the car. Last year he got "most accessorized" car.

Pinewood Derby Champ!

Seth got a trophy for "Favorite Car"! That's his Cubmaster with him. Oh, and "Mom" did the decorations, so all that on the back wall was my area. :)

Ice Storm is HERE!

Our storm made the Weather Channel front page....a reporter was even in Tulsa! It was 66 degrees yesterday...it's now 27. I could hardly open my car door because the whole car was just enveloped in a coat of ice. Needless to say, I got working on the stuff in the garage (moving it!) so I could pull my car in!!! So much for putting the Christmas stuff up in the attic...not sure if I could get to the attic door! haha

Happy New Year 2007!

Wearing my vintage hat...and showing his new watch that he's keeping track of time with.

Ah, big box o' flavor

He was such a good boy when he had braces. He deserved this! He even shared with us. :)

"AFTER" NO BRACES!!!

Woohoo! We're done with braces, but will have to do a retainer. At least for now, he gets a break for a while! He looks great and he's so glad to be able to eat Hot Tamales, carrots (yes, I swear he said that) and Skittles again! (We bought a BIG big of Hot Tamales for a celebration chowdown.)
